ST. MARYS, OH – Grand Lake Health System is pleased to announce the arrival of its first baby of the New Year. Oliver Thomas Brunet made his grand entrance at 4:51 p.m. on January 1, 2026. He weighed 9 pounds, 9.4 ounces, and measured 19.5 inches long.

Proud parents Andy and Josie Brunet joyfully welcomed their son, who was also greeted by his 20-month-old big sister, Sydney.


Oliver’s maternal grandparents are Tom and Shelly Luthman of Coldwater, and his paternal grandparents are Tim and Therese Brunet, also of Coldwater.


The baby was delivered by Bridgett Heckler, CMM, under the care of Dr. Polly Train of Grand Lake OB/GYN.

To celebrate this special milestone, Oliver received a basket filled with gifts, diapers, wipes, and a $100 check from Grand Lake Health System in recognition of being the hospital’s New Year’s baby.
