(12-22-25) In a statement today by Ohio State Auditor Keith Faber (R-Celina) …he has made a strong statement supporting Columbus and state law enforcement…in regards to the recent statement of City of Columbus officials.
Faber wrote—-
I stand with law enforcement for law and order.
Local and state law enforcement have a duty to work in partnership with federal officials to enforce the law. Anything less isn’t “resistance” or “discretion,” it’s harboring fugitives or, as we saw this week in Wisconsin, when a judge was convicted of a felony, obstructing justice.
We would expect more from Columbus.
As Attorney General, I will make cooperation the standard, not the exception. We will focus on keeping our families and communities safe and fighting crime across Ohio.
It is not up to the mayor what laws he or Columbus police will enforce. If he doesn’t like the law, he should run for Congress or the legislature and change them, but otherwise honor your oath and do your job.

Faber is the Republican candidate for State Attorney General in the next election.
