On December 11th, 2025, Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department began an investigation after being called to a local Fort Wayne hospital for an infant with serious injuries. After a thorough investigation, detectives with the Fort Wayne Police Department’s Crimes hi Against Persons Unit identified Emily Duran as the suspect of the investigation.

On December 19, 2025, through a combined effort from the FWPD’s Crimes Against Persons Unit and Gang & Violent Crimes Unit, Investigators successfully located Duran and she was taken into custody. She was transported to the Allen County Jail.

Suspect Arrested: Emily Duran, 27 years old.
Preliminary Charges: one (1) count of Neglect of a Dependent resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, Level 3 Felony & one (1) count of Battery to a child under 14 by a person at least 18 resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, Level 3 Felony
