(12-18-25) The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend a thank you to American Legion Post 330 for their incredible generosity.

Post 330 recently presented the department with a donation of $30,000, specifically designated to equip every cruiser in the fleet with a ballistic shield. These shields provide a critical layer of protection for our deputies, allowing them to respond to high-risk situations with the best possible equipment to ensure they return home safely to their families.

A ballistic shield is a portable, bullet-resistant barrier designed to protect users from small arms fire and fragmentation during high-risk situations. Unlike body armor, which is worn, a shield is carried in front of the user to provide mobile cover for both the body and the head.

Ballistic shields vary in size, shape, and protection level to suit different operational needs, from compact home defense to full-body military and SWAT shields.

Support like this from our local organizations makes a world of difference in our ability to serve and protect Auglaize County. Thank you, Post 330, for your unwavering commitment to law enforcement and the safety of our community.
