(12-17-25) The Fort Recovery District Spelling Bee was held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Twenty-five students grades 4th through 8th participated in the bee.
The district spelling bee champion, 7th grader, Kayla Dues. Also placing in the bee were second place, 7th grader, Zoey Wendel and third place, 7th grader, LaMicheal Heitkamp.
Those top three spellers will compete in the Mercer County Spelling Bee on Monday, March 9, 2025.
Kayla Dues, the champion, will also move onto the regional spelling bee in Lima in March.
