(12-15-25) Donald Cordray (42) of St. Marys was booked on a 3rd degree felony of strangulation and a 1st degree misdemeanor of assault.
After being booked he was released.

In Ohio…strangulation is a felony, often a third-degree felony, especially in domestic violence cases, involving creating a substantial risk of serious physical harm, with elevated charges if the victim was pregnant or there was a prior relationship. A third-degree felony carries significant penalties, like potential prison time, and is part of a tiered system where harm level (serious harm vs. risk of harm) and relationship factors determine the charge, ranging from second to fifth-degree felonies, emphasizing strangulation’s danger.
A third-degree felony can lead to up to five years in prison.
