PRESS RELEASE

On December 5, 2025 at approximately 12:25 pm Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum Rescue and New Madison Fire Department, responded to the intersection of US Route 127 and State Route 503 on a reported injury crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed a silver Pontiac Vibe driven by Mathew Willey 26, of Greenville was traveling northbound on US Route 127 attempting to make a left turn onto State Route 503 and was struck by a northbound black Ford Explorer driven by Matthew Whitehead 44, of Greenville, which was attempting to pass at the intersection.

Willey was transported to Wayne HealthCare for minor injuries, and Whitehead was uninjured.
