PRESS RELEASE

(11-21-25) On November 20, 2025 at approximately 5:29 p.m. Darke County Deputies, along with Arcanum Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the 4000 block of Arcanum Bears Mill Road, Arcanum, Ohio in reference to a single vehicle injury crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed a blue 1999 Volkswagen was traveling south on Arcanum Bears Mill Road. The driver of the Volkswagen lost control of the vehicle and drove off the roadway, striking a ditch before coming to rest in a creek. The driver of the Volkswagen was able to get out of the vehicle with the assistance from first responders.

The driver of the Volkswagen was identified as Edwin Knaff (73) of West Alexandria, Ohio. Knaff was transported to Wayne Healthcare for non-life threatening injuries by Arcanum Rescue.
