PRESS RELEASE

On November 20, 2025 at approximately 2:28 pm Darke County Deputies along with Ansonia Fire and Ansonia Rescue were dispatched to the intersection of State Route 49 and State Route 47 in reference to a two-vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a white 2026 Ford F-150 driven by Bryan Calderhead (50) of Norwich, Ohio, was stopped southbound on State Route 47 at the posted stop sign. Calderhead failed to yield the right-of-way and traveled into the path of a red 2014 Kenworth semi tractor/trailer driven by Bradley Shafer (35) of Union City, Ohio. The eastbound Kenworth struck the Ford F-150 on the rear passenger side, causing the Ford F-150 to travel off the roadway, while the Kenworth stopped on the roadway.

Calderhead was transported to Wayne HealthCare by Ansonia Rescue for minor injuries. Shafer was treated and released from the scene.

Calderhead was issued a citation for failure to yield after a clearly marked stop sign.
