UPDATE
On November 3, 2025 at approximately 4:49 a.m. Darke County Deputies along with New Madison Fire, Tri-Village Rescue, Careflight, Ohio State Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Enforcement, and Darke County Coroner Office was dispatched to the 1600 block of U.S. 127, Arcanum, Ohio 45304 in reference to a traffic accident with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2022 blue Freightliner Cascadia semi-tractor trailer being operated by Joseph Abner (61) of Lewisburg, Ohio was traveling north on U.S. 127 near Grubbs Rex Road. A 2014 red Ford Fusion being operated by Marcus Bingham (33) of New Madison, Ohio was traveling south on U.S. 127. Mr. Bingham went left of center and struck the semi head on. First responders arrived on scene and attempted life saving measures on Mr. Bingham, however he was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
This crash still remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Preliminary investigation revealed a semi-tractor trailer was traveling north on U.S. 127 near Grubbs Rex Road, when a car traveling southbound went left of center and struck the semi head on. First responders arrived on scene and attempted life saving measures, however, the driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
