NEWS RELEASE

(10-27-25) On October 26, 2025 at approximately 3:10a.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Union City Police, Fire, and Rescue responded to the 8300 Block of Hillgrove- Southern road in reference to a single vehicle accident with injury.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a Gray 2002 Honda Shadow Motorcycle, driven by Joshua Baker (35), of Ansonia was traveling South on Hillgrove-Southern road. Baker advised a deer ran in his pathway. Baker made an abrupt maneuver to avoid the deer, and lost control of the motorcycle.

Baker was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

No other details on the deer.

This accident remains under investigation.
