9-24-25 On September 16, 2025, Inspectors from the Bureau of Adult Detention were on sight to conduct our annual detention center inspection. Today, we were notified that Mercer County received 100% compliance with all the standards.

There are a total of 177 standards (125 are important, and 52 are essential). Captain Jon Wolfe and Lt. Rob Cupp implemented a new electronic paperless documentation process which allowed the inspection to be more streamlined and efficient.

The staff of the Mercer County Detention Facility work hard every day in a challenging environment to ensure the facility is in compliance. Sheriff Timmerman states he is proud and grateful for his Corrections staff.
