9-18-25 The following press release was sent out by Erin M. Minor, Mercer County Prosecutor from Special Prosecutor, Eva Yarger, concerning the officer involved shooting that occurred in Celina on December 31, 2024.

On December 31, 2024, there was an officer-involved fatal shooting that resulted in the death of Moses Alik. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) to investigate this matterwhich involved a Mercer County Deputy.  On September 18, 2025, Special Prosecuting Attorney Eva J. Yarger presented the results of BCI’s investigation to the Mercer County Grand Jury.The Mercer County Grand Jurors chose not to issue any indictments from this matter.
