Charlie Kirk, the prominent conservative activist, founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, and a key ally of President Donald Trump, was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah. The incident occurred shortly after noon local time as part of the launch of his “American Comeback Tour,” organized by Turning Point USA. Kirk was addressing a crowd of thousands when a single gunshot struck him in the neck from approximately 142 yards away, fired from the roof of the nearby Losee Center. He collapsed on stage, and despite immediate medical response, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
