(8-24-25) On Saturday, August 23, 2025, at approximately 6:19pm, Darke County Sheriff Deputies, along with Arcanum Fire and Rescue, responded to the 3800 block of State Route 49, reference a vehicle crash with injury.

Investigation revealed a 2000 GMC 1500, driven by Dominic Davis (20) of Arcanum was traveling northwest-bound on State Route 49, when it attempted to turn left into a private driveway, traveling into the pathway of a 2023 Kia Soul, driven by James Hodges (89) of Trotwood. Hodges’ vehicle struck Davis’ vehicle in its rear passenger side, causing the truck to spin off the roadway to the south before coming to rest. Hodges, Davis, and his passenger, Alannah Sullivan, 19, of Greenville, were all treated on the scene for possible minor injuries and refused further medical services.

Davis was issued a citation for Failing to Yield.
