(7-29-25) The Putnam County Office of Public Safety reported on a collision between a semi-truck and a train earlier this morning. The incident occurred at 8:33 a.m. on County Road 5 at the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.

When emergency personnel arrived the driver of a semi tractor had extricated himself and was suffering from a back injury. The semi’s fuel tanks were punctured and released approximately 150 gallons of diesel fuel onto the roadway and adjoining railroad property.
