(7-26-25) Friday night at 5:01 p.m. Adams County Sheriff Officers responded to a crash on the 1600 block of N CR 300 West in Decatur, Indiana.

The car was traveling northbound at approximately 60 miles per hour when it rear-ended the horse-drawn buggy also traveling northbound.

The impact caused both occupants in the buggy, identified as Christ Wickey (42) and Emma Wickey (40), to be ejected and sustain ‘apparent serious injuries’.

The officers says both were transported to a local hospital and are now listed in stable condition.

The driver of the car was following the buggy too closely, according to the investigation. Driver inattention is also under investigation. There is no evidence indicating impairment as a factor.

The crash remains under investigation.
