The Minster Police Department’s transformative addition and renovation project created a modern, secure, and adaptable space to support and enhance its services. The update added 3,846 square feet and renovated another 4,900, blending contemporary design elements with the department’s longstanding character.

Highlights include expanded locker rooms, a three-car garage, dedicated training areas, and a reimagined squad room that doubles as a storm shelter.

Key upgrades were tailored to support evolving departmental needs and future growth. The renovation includes:
- Larger locker rooms with spacious, organized storage to keep gear and walkways clear.
- An expanded evidence room with significantly more space for secure storage and categorization.
- A three-car garage and additional storage space to streamline daily operations.
- Dedicated training rooms for educational sessions and physical fitness, supporting officer readiness.
- Enhanced security measures throughout the building and site to protect both personnel and the public.
- Updated finishes that bring a modern look and reinforce a sense of pride and professionalism.
One of the most innovative solutions in the project was the integration of an ICC-500 rated storm shelter, a requirement of the Ohio Building Code. Instead of designing a separate space, the team creatively repurposed the new squad room to serve this dual function. This not only satisfied code requirements but ensured uninterrupted operations during severe weather events.

This project sets a new benchmark for law enforcement facilities—prioritizing user experience, operational flexibility, and long-term functionality for the Minster community.
