(7-12-25) WHIO TV Weather Specialist Nick Dunn posted the following on drought conditions.
DRY CONDITIONS: For many…you might look at this post and wonder what in the world am I talking about! However, we have a section in the Miami Valley where rainfall has not been very kind and conditions are drying up a bit.

Auglaize & Mercer Counties have now been classified as “Abnormally Dry.” This is not an official drought category, but more of a “pre-cursor” to drought. In general, recent conditions have been drier than normal and this area is in need of rain before conditions worsen further.

We can analyze the moisture deficit and you can see that this corner of the valley is in a deficit of 2″+ when it comes to moisture. Hopefully tomorrow’s rain chances bring needed rain to these areas. I have heard from a few this week that your lawns are drying up a bit. – 9:57 PM 7/11/2025
