(7-9-25) Michiel Moore (41) of Lima was booked yesterday by the Celina Municipal Court on a 5th degree felony charge of theft, deception.

He is being held in the Mercer County Adult Detention Center with no bond and awaiting a Mercer County Common Pleas Court hearing.

In Ohio, theft by deception is classified as a felony of the fifth degree when the value of the property or services stolen is between $1,000 and $7,500. This offense can result in a prison sentence of up to 12 months and a fine of up to $2,500. “Deception” in this context means knowingly deceiving someone or causing them to be deceived through false or misleading representations, withholding information, or other acts that create a false impression.
