From the Greenville Ohio Police Department Chief Ryan Benge…

Greenville Fireworks Cancellation Update

On July 6, 2025, two adult males were injured while preparing for the City of Greenville’s annual fireworks show, which was scheduled to begin at approximately 10:00 p.m. on the same date.

One individual was transported to Wayne HealthCare for treatment, while the other was airlifted via CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital for further medical care.

The incident is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office, with support from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

Due to the seriousness of the event and out of an abundance of caution, city officials and the fireworks team have made the decision to cancel this year’s fireworks display. However, the festivities will continue at the fairgrounds, where food trucks and vendors will remain open to the public beginning at 5:00 p.m.

(7-6-25) Just released, fireworks scheduled for tonight at the Darke County Fairgrounds have been cancelled, no particular reason was given.

Food trucks will still be on-site.

Dayton media sources say…a firework reportedly exploded in someone’s face at the Darke County Fairgrounds Sunday afternoon. CareFlight has been sent for.
