Maria Stein (6-29-25) — The Ohio Department of Agriculture is seeking public input on a renewal of a permit to operate for AJ Evers & Sons, a poultry facility located at 1105 Goettemoeller Road, Maria Stein.

The facility’s one-layer barn has a current capacity of 108,500 laying hens, with manure stored in a pit beneath the birds that can hold more than one year’s worth of storage. The original permit to operate lasted for five years.
