July movies feature outdoor adventures

Beat the heat this summer and bring your adventures indoors with Greenville Public Library’s July Movie Matinees!
On Thursday, July 17 at 1 p.m., we’ll be showing the 1988 (almost) cult classic, The Great Outdoors. This family comedy features the talents of the late John Candy and Dan Aykroyd as brothers-in-law with very different approaches to a relaxing fishing weekend. This film is rated PG with a run time of 1 hour 31 minutes. Patrons are invited to bring their favorite movie snacks and drinks to this free event. A jacket or sweater is rec-ommended for anyone who finds themselves easily chilled.
The following week on July 24, we’ll be hosting a movie just for teens. Beginning at 1 p.m., we’ll be showing the 2022 action adventure, Uncharted, starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. This movie is rated PG-13 with a run time of 1 hour 56 minutes. Snacks will be provided.
As always, movies at GPL are free! For more information, contact the library at (937) 548-3915.
Learn to travel like a pro at Greenville Public Library

Traveling is always a rewarding endeavor, but deciding when, where, and how to get to your desired destination can be a pain.
Worry no more by getting the inside track on trip planning from a pro! On Tuesday, July 8, GPL’s own Leigh Fletcher will be sharing her hard-earned travel knowledge with us at 10 a.m.
Leigh has been planning all kinds of trips as co-owner of Friends on Board, which specializes in group motor coach travel. Whether you’re looking to take a day trip or a week-long excursion, Leigh’s tips and tricks of the trade can make planning your dream vacation a breeze.
From choosing a location to visit, your mode of transportation, travel companions, and much, much more, Leigh will help shed light on the pros and cons of self-planning versus group tours. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a novice planning your first real vacation, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to get the scoop on all things travel.
