(6-25-25) Today the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office booked Vence Allen (64) of Goshen/Elkhart, Indiana on multiple charges.

  • 5th degree felony – vandalism, property is necessary for business (3 counts)
  • 5th degree felony – breaking and entering, purpose commit theft offense/felony unoccupied structure, use of force stealth deception
  • 4th degree misdemeanor – criminal trespass land premises of another
  • 4th degree felony – safecracking
  • 1st degree misdemeanor – theft without consent (2 counts)
  • 4th degree felony – possessing criminal tools

Allen is being held with no bond and is awaiting a Mercer County Common Pleas Court hearing.

In March of this year in Goshen, Indiana Allen pleaded guilty to theft and to being a habitual criminal offender. He was sentenced to three years with the IDOC suspended on probation.
