Wapakoneta (6-23-25) — The results revealed 482 vehicles were checked driving through the OVI checkpoint conducted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, Saint Mary’s Police Department, with assistance from the Ohio Department of Transportation on Friday, June 20, 2025. The checkpoint occurred on Celina Road east of State Route 364 in Saint Marys. No vehicles were diverted during the checkpoint.

The OVI checkpoints are funded by federal grant funds and are planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

The checkpoint was held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to combat impaired driver-related inyury and fatal crashes.

If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver, or make other travel arrangements before you drink.
