🚨 Counterfeit Alert – Please Read 🚨

With garage sales happening throughout Arcanum and the surrounding area, we want to make residents aware of a counterfeit $100 bills that has been circulating in Darke County. These counterfeit bills have been passed to both businesses and unsuspecting private individuals.

🧾 While the $100 bill has been the most common, other denominations may also be in circulation.


🔎 The bill pictured below is clearly marked as fake, but those markings can be missed if you’re in a hurry.


🖐️ Additionally, the bill feels different from real currency—so trust your instincts if something seems off.

Unfortunately, one of our residents has already been a victim of this scam during the garage sales.

✅ Please be cautious when accepting cash, especially larger bills. Take a moment to inspect them closely.
