(6-17-25) On June 17, 2025, at approximately 3:41 PM, Darke County Deputies, along with Gettysburg Fire and Rescue, responded to the 8000 block of Horatio Harris Creek Road in reference to a two-vehicle injury accident.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2017 Gray Chevy Equinox, driven by a 17-year-old male of Versailles, was traveling westbound on Horatio Harris Creek Road. The Chevy Equinox went left of center, striking a 2019 black Ford F350, driven by Justin Deters (45) of Xenia, Ohio, was eastbound on Horatio Harris Creek Road. Both vehicles traveled off the roadway, coming to a rest in a field. The juvenile male was taken to Upper Valley Hospital with unknown injuries. Mr. Deter was treated at the scene with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
