(6-16-25) The Mercer County District Library in Celina was host to a group of budding authors for a Writing Camp in early June. Attendees learned about how to author picture books, graphic novels, and chapter books. Writing materials were supplied courtesy of a grant provided by the Ohio Arts Council. They were guided by their instructor and veteran Celina teacher Mrs. Cheryl Pease.

Students met daily to discuss topics such as: character development, plotting, rising tension, voice, universal themes and so, so much more! By
the end of the week, each student had created a story which took readers to different parts of the world, parallel universes, ancient times, county
fairs, dance recitals and fairy tale forests.
A celebration will be held at The Mercer County District Library in Celina on June 28th at 10:00 AM where the young authors will be reading portions
of their completed stories from the Writing Camp. The public is welcome to attend.
