Hortman and Hoffman

(6-14-25) Minnesota Democrat lawmaker Melissa Hortman of Minnesota and her husband Mark were shot and killed in their home last night. Democrat Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette were also shot, but survived.

The Suspect, Vance Boelter, was impersonating a police officer and was seen leaving the Hortman home by a passing police officer who investigated. The suspect opened fire and fled. A manifesto and fliers for the anti-Trump No Kings protests were found in the suspect’s SUV which was painted to look like a police vehicle. The manifesto had a list of other politicians who are potential targets.

The two Minnesota democratic lawmakers shot last night, both recently voted against their party, with Hortman supporting repeal of free healthcare for illegals and Hoffman joining Republicans in the Senate to pass it.

Boelter was appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board in 2019 by Gov. Tim Walz.
