(6-10-25) -Today the swearing in two new Portland Police Department chaplains: Steven Myers and Sandra Collazo-Lopez.

They are pictured with two existing chaplains, Dave and Earl Doll, who have been faithfully serving our department, Jay County, and community for several years. Each of these individuals brings compassion, strength, and a steady presence to our officers, staff, and the public we serve.
Police chaplains are a vital part of our team. They show up during some of the hardest moments offering comfort, guidance, and a listening ear when it’s needed most. Whether it’s supporting officers after a tough call or being there for members of the community in crisis, their impact goes far beyond what most people see.

On a personal note, I can’t overstate how much our chaplains mean to me, to Assistant Chief Miller, and to everyone here at the Portland Police Department. Their care and commitment help carry us through the most challenging parts of the job.
Please join us in welcoming Chaplains Myers and Collazo-Lopez to the team, and in thanking all of our chaplains for the incredible work they do.
Congratulations and welcome aboard.
