The new crosswalk between the High School and Eagle Plaza on N. Main St. (St. Rt. 66) is now in operation.

Here’s what you need to know:

🚶‍♂️ Pedestrians:

  • Right-of-Way: You have the right-of-way in both marked and unmarked crosswalks. Please exercise caution and ensure vehicles have time to yield.
  • Use the Button: Activate the yellow lights by pressing the button before crossing.

🚗 Drivers:

  • Yield: You must yield to pedestrians in crosswalks, whether marked or unmarked.
  • Do Not Block: Avoid blocking crosswalks when stopping at red lights.
  • Observe Speed Limit: The speed limit has been reduced from 45 to 35 mph in this area. Please adhere to the new limit for everyone’s safety.

📢 Enforcement:
Our officers will be monitoring this area to ensure compliance with crosswalk laws and the new speed limit.

📚 School Assembly:
A school assembly is being planned for next fall to educate all children on the proper use of the crosswalk.
