(5-28-25) Yesterday at 10:34 am Van Wert County Sheriff’s Deputies served a warrant on Ras Simba Tafari (46) of Haviland for a 4th-Degree Felony Charge of Aggravated Vehicular Assault from an incident that occurred in the City of Van Wert.

Tafari was taken into custody and transported to OhioHealth for medical evaluation.

In Ohio, aggravated vehicular assault is a felony of the third degree, meaning it carries a prison sentence of between 9 months and 3 years. It is also possible to face a license suspension of up to ten years, and a fine of up to $5,000.
