(5-27-25) The Holiday weekend in Van Wert County saw Sheriff’s Deputies make numerous calls…especially in Willshire.
Sunday afternoon a 4;12 pm Deputies along with Willshire Fire and Wren EMS responded to an area of U.S. Route 33 in Willshire Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash. A 2010 Chevy Suburban, driven by Alice Jackson of rural Rockford, was traveling Westbound on US Route 33. Jackson ran off the right side of the road striking a guard rail and continuing down away from the roadway. Both the driver and a passenger were transported to Ohio Health in Van Wert with unknown injuries.
The vehicle was removed by Hague Towing. The driver was issued a citation for failure to control.
Sunday morning at 9:04 am…Deputies responded to a residence on Harrison Willshire Road in Harrison Township on a complaint of a low flying aircraft. Deputies also received a complaint from the pilot of the aircraft of a firearm being pointed at the aircraft.
The incident remains under investigation.

Early Saturday morning at 12:09 am…Deputies responded to a location on North Adams Street in the Middle Point for a report of domestic violence. Brandon L. Ganger (25) of Middle Point, was arrested for a 1st-Degree Misdemeanor of Domestic Violence and transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.
WILLSHIRE
Saturday morning at 11:50 am…Deputies spoke with a resident from Willshire for a complaint of harassment.
Friday morning at 11:54 am in Willshire…Deputies spoke with a subject for a complaint of unruly juveniles. Friday afternoon at 3:33 pm Deputies responded to a residence on Green Street in the Willshire to standby as a peace officer.
VAN WERT
Van Wert City Police arrested two women this past weekend.
