(5-22-25) Portland’s Madison L. Baker‘s (18), driving a 2010 Ford Focus, went off Boundary Pike and into a tree about 11:17 p.m. on Tuesday evening

Baker was driving west on County Road 700 South just west of the intersection with County Road 300 East, where 700 South turns into Boundary Pike and curves northwest. As the vehicle entered the curve, the car continued west off the road and into a tree.

The Jay County Sheriff ’s crash report indicated that Baker might have been driving too fast in the rain when she entered the curve.

Baker indicated after the crash that she had leg and hip pain.

Several passengers in the vehicle suffered injuries.

  • Collin Hall (19) suffered a head injury,
  • (17 year old) complained of body pains
  • Cheyenne Greene (18) suffered an abdominal injury
  • Alyssa Best (18) suffered a head injury.
