(5-16-25) Nathan D. Frederick (34) Celina swerved to avoid hitting a rabbit in Pennville, Indiana causing him to crash into a vehicle driven by Macias J. Torres (54) of Portland at about 6:33 a.m. on Thursday morning.

Frederick was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer south on Highway 1 just south of Pleasant Street in Pennville when a rabbit ran into the road. Frederick said he swerved into the northbound lane to avoid
hitting the rabbit. Instead he collided with a 2013 Ford Explorer driven by Torres. Frederick’s driver’s side mirror and rear tire hit Torres’ driver’s side mirror and front tire.

A passenger in the Torres’ vehicle, Vilma R. Guizar (50) of Portland, complained of neck pain. No word on the condition of the rabbit.
