(5-11-25) An 8-year-old Logan County boy was seriously injured after being hit by an SUV while riding a tricycle in the street on Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened just after 12:20 p.m. on New Street near Canby Street in Quincy.

Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies say the boy entered the street from between two parked cars and was hit by a westbound Chevrolet Traverse.

The tricycle was found lodged in the front bumper of the vehicle.

Before deputies arrived on the scene, the boy and his mother reportedly left the area.

Medics later located them and transported the child to a CareFlight landing zone at Finfrock Park.

He was then airlifted to Dayton Children’s Hospital with suspected serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
