(5-2-25) Yesterday at 11:26 am Van Wert County Sheriff’s Deputies served a warrant issued by Van Wert County Common Pleas Court for one count of First-Degree Felony Involuntary Manslaughter, and one count Second-Degree Felony Corrupting Another with Drugs.
Joshua D. Sargent (43) of Van Wert is being held at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.
In Ohio…Involuntary manslaughter describes situations in which the defendant did not intentionally kill another person, but directly caused their death via negligence, recklessness, and/or disregard for another person’s life (e.g. traffic fatalities, accidental weapon discharge, etc).
