(4-29-25) Last night was a wonderful night for two former Mercer County residents…who now live in Colorado, Carol (Uhlenhake) and Larry Knapke, when their granddaughter Adira was a guest on American Idol.

My granddaughter Adira
through Make A Wish was granted a personal meet with her favorite Luke Bryan. She met Luke and attended American Idol where he is a judge and then featured on Good Morning American this morning
Her parents Shalan (Danker) and Kyle Knapke, who live in Iowa, have always supported Adira during her ‘rough times’.
In November 2015, the Knapke’s were referred to University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital after their 20 week ultrasound showed that the baby’s right ventricle had not developed.
