(4-26-25) Rachel Clark (43) was booked yesterday by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department on one 5th degree felony count of theft deception and two misdemeanor counts of theft deception.

In Ohio, theft by deception becomes a felony when the value of the property or obligation involved exceeds $1,000. The specific felony degree (fifth, fourth, third, or second) depends on the value of the stolen property or obligation. FIf the value is between $1,000 and $7,500, it’s a fifth-degree felony.

She is awaiting a Mercer County Common Pleas Court appearance.

With numerous inmates from Darke County transported, 73 inmates are presently being housed in the Mercer County Adult Detention Center.
