(4-18-25) Cathy Bollinger (51) of Pataskala, whose pigs killed Rebecca Westergaard (75) in Licking County on Christmas Day, is facing a $200 fine after being found guilty this week of failing to control the pigs, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

Bollinger and Judge Stansbury

Bollinger pleaded no contest and was found guilty of the single count by Licking County Municipal Judge David Stansbury.

Westergaard was found dead on her porch Christmas Day when she failed to arrive at a relative’s home in Akron. The Licking County coroner said she bled to death after being attacked by Bollinger’s two pigs, which had escaped from Bollinger’s backyard. Westergaard had been on blood thinners because of a recent heart surgery.

The pigs were destroyed at the request of the Westergaard family on March 26th.
