Bob Sloan

(3-28-25) According to vwindependent.com …Van Wert High School band director Bob Sloan has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Superintendent Mark Bagley confirmed via email to vwindependent.com that Sloan had been placed placed on leave… “Van Wert City Schools has no further comment at this time.”

Sloan is a full-time high school band director and teaches 5th-12th grade band including 5th grade, 6th grade, and HS Bands (pep, marching, Symphonic) while assisting with 7th and 8th grade).

Sloan was named the 2019 Teacher of the Year for State Board of Education District 1.
