(3-25-25) The Celina City Schools Board of Education met tonight in a special session to discuss the new proposed athletic facilities and the future of the Fieldhouse and the Celina Stadium.

At the beginning of the meeting Adam Schleucher introduced a point of order to change wording of agenda item #6 that would be a part of the board vote on the night… ‘to demolish the Fieldhouse’.

During the meeting several members of the public were given three minutes to discuss the situation.

Scott Miller representing the Booster discussed the future with a capital campaign to be started, with a new track a top priority at this time.

Theresa Howick asked who decided that the current Fieldhouse would no longer be the ‘home’ of the Bulldogs in the future…but that the new athletic gym would be.

Former school board member Bill Sell endorsed moving on from the Fieldhouse to a new competitive athletic Fieldhouse stating several issues.

Community member Tim Homan hopes that the board will keep the Fieldhouse in place.

After the public speaking…the board voted 4-1 not to demolish the Fieldhouse….with Mark Huelsman the only member who voted to tear down the facility. No firm plans were discussed on how the situation will now move forward.

The meeting was adjourned.
