(3-25-25) Dr. Brittney Vogel spoke to the Celina Kiwanis Club at their March 19th meeting. Dr. Vogel is a board-certified family physician who joined Mercer Health Medical Group last September. Graduating from Notre Dame with a degree in mechanical engineering, Vogel chose to pursue a medical degreerather than make a future in engineering. She attended the University of Kentucky for her medical training and then spent five years as an Air Force flight surgeon. After her tour of duty, Dr. Vogel worked at an addiction clinic for a year while waiting for her residency assignment which she completed at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She and her husband, Jason, have two daughters.

During the business portion of the meeting, Karen Perts reviewed the activities of the District 2 meeting as well as those of the Mid-Year Education Day. Members signed up to canvass businesses for donations to the scholarship fund. The Celina Kiwanis have received a generous donation of $10,000 from Barb and Dan Hood for the club’s work. Karen and Bob Cisco donated $500 in honor of their daughter Melanie.

Recently the club made donations to Our Home’s Empty Bowls Campaign, the Cancer Association’s Hopefest, the CHS After Prom Committee, and the Courage to Live Foundation. They have also purchased materials for the Kiwanis Bring Up Grades (B.U.G.) and Terrific Kids programs, which were donated to the Mercer County Educational Services Center.
