(3-2-25) Two Muncie, Indiana parents, Adam (36) and Melody (38) Greenwood, are facing multiple charges after their 10-year-old boy told Muncie Police they were improperly fed, had their hands zip-tied and were forced to face a wall “for approximately 10-12 hours a day.”

Officers visited the Greenwood’s home this past Monday to check on the condition of the 10-year-old boy and the other seven children in their home.

Police observed that the 10-year-old appeared extremely thin. Melody Greenwood told the officers the boy was grounded during the officers’ arrival.

The other children confirmed that the 10-year-old was the only child who was treated this way. They said the rest of the family tended to eat normal food “such as cheeseburgers and fast food” while the 10-year child had her primary meals came from cans.

The family reportedly relocated to Muncie in September.

Melody Greenwood faces the following preliminary charges:

  • Two counts of felony neglect of a dependent (Level 5 Felonies)
  • One additional felony neglect of a dependent (Level 6 Felony)

Adam Greenwood received these preliminary charges:

  • Felony neglect of a dependent (Level 5 Felony)
  • One additional felony neglect of a dependent (Level 6 Felony)

The Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office will decide, if any charges will be filed.
