(2-28-25) At last night’s annual Celina Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet at Romer’s Catering the recipients of the 2024 awards were honored.

Bill Montgomery was named the Citizen of the Year. Montgomery is the current Chairman, President, and CEO of the Celina Insurance Group. He was previously a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from January 1978 to December 1982.
Montgomery received a BA from DePauw University and a law degree from Ohio Northern University—Claude W. Pettit College of Law.
Montgomery has been instrumental in the running of the Grand Laker Mariners summer collegiate baseball team, he is the president of the board.

Alan Smith was out of of the state last night and didn’t know that he was receiving the Humanitarian Award. Chamber officials finally informed him and he received his award over Zoom.
