Ayan Hersi

(2-21-25) On 2/20/2025, at about 1:10 p.m., the Lima Police Department was notified of a deceased person located in the 600 block of N. Sugar Street.

A private company utility employee located the unknown black female laying in the 600 block of N. Sugar. Officers and investigators arrived at the scene to find the female, concealed off of the roadway and snow covered. The scene was processed overnight and the Allen County Coroner ordered an autopsy to performed on the female.

A positive identification was made on the female. She was identified as Ayan Abdi Hersi (33), who had been reported missing through the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, on 1/31/2025. Ms. Hersi was reported to have been last seen on surveillance video, leaving a mobile home at 1800 Reservoir Road, Lima, on January 31st, shortly after 12:00 p.m.

Hersi’s body has been sent to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, for an autopsy.
