(2-13-25) The first ever Parkway Music Boosters 5K Run/Walk to be held on April 5, 2025, beginning and ending on the high school track field which will also include a Fun Run for kids.

Historically, the music boosters have relied on concession stand earnings from each home football and basketball game to fund the students’ needs which include uniforms and the cleaning and maintenance of the same, instruments, Honors Band and Choir competitions which can include fees and sometimes hotel stays, registration fees associated with OMEA competitions, and field trips intended to introduce the kids to a broad range of musical endeavors should they decide to continue their music aspirations after high school.

While the parents of all band and choir students are responsible for volunteering for concession stand operations, the 5K offers the students an opportunity to participate in the fundraising activities meant to benefit them.

The boosters are hoping to initiate a 5K Run/Walk in the hopes that future band and choir students will be able to manage the fundraiser elevating the leaders of the class and teaching the importance of volunteerism and business organization.
