(2-11-25) Yesterday the Celina Police arrested Maria Valencia (28) on a 1st degree misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.

She is being held at the Mercer County Adult Detention Center with no bond. She is awaiting a Celina Municipal Court hearing.

First-time domestic violence offenders are often charged with a first degree misdemeanor (M1), which carries a potential for $1,000 in fines and 180 days (6 months) in jail. Surrounding circumstances may make it possible to argue for a reduction in charge, fines, or jail time, or an outright dismissal of charges.
