(2-1-25) As we enter a new calendar year, the Shanes Crossing Historical Society would like to humbly invite you to be a member of our organization. Your level of participation is totally up to you. We have historical meetings on the third Monday in the months of: March, April, May, August, September, and October at 7:00pm in the village hall. With your involvement, we hope to ‘expand the horizons’ of knowledge concerning our local history, collect ideas to better our organization, and add to the wealth of information we have already accumulated.

This past year, we have renovated Anthony Shane’s log house, created a YouTube channel, purchased an historical marker, and collected many historical items from several donors (including Kathy Jo Higgins, a resident of North Carolina and descendant of Anthony Shane). In the future, we would like to refurbish an original Lloyd’s buggy (manufactured here in Rockford), restore vintage items that need restoration, and perhaps, add on to the museum.

With these things in mind, we would like to welcome you as a new member of the Shanes Crossing Historical Society: ‘Preserving the past to enlighten the future.’
A contribution of $10 for the year is requested for membership. Checks may be made out to the Shanes Crossing Historical Society should you decide to be a part of an active and growing organization. Thank you for your consideration.
