(12-28-24) On January 1,st 2025, the minimum wage for non-tipped employees will increase from $10.45 to $10.70 per hour.

The minimum wage for tipped employees will also go up from $5.25 to $5.35 per hour.

This will apply to employees of businesses with annual gross receipts of more than $385,000 per year.

The minimum wage for employees at small companies with annual gross receipts of $394,000 or less per year after January 1st or for 14- and 15-year-olds is $7.25 per hour.

The federal minimum wage in the United States is $7.25 per hour, but many states have higher minimum wages: 

  • State minimum wages Most states have a higher minimum wage than the federal minimum wage. For example, Washington state has a minimum wage of $16.28 per hour

Tipped employees

Some states have minimum wage laws specific to tipped employees. The federal minimum wage for tipped employees is $2.13 per hour.
